Ok, so this Valentines day....yea. I still say I can live without it. I dont get the hype. I mean, we had a nice sketti dinner and it was fun...and I was perfectly content. Who needs expensive dinners, gifts and flowers to make the day good? Not me. Give me Pj pants, mac and cheese and a DVD to watch and I am set.

Ok so here is what is on my mind right now. Valentines day. What is the big deal? I am sure the card companies, the flower companies, and definately the chocolate and jewelry companies are appreciating the holiday. But why do we need to celebrate anyway? I understand its a day to celebrate and spend time with your significant other whoever they may be. But uhh...cant you do that everyday? Cant you appreciate them everyday?

The holiday is a celebration of St Valentine who married young lovers in secret when Emperor Claudius II outlawed marriage. Yay for hopeless romantics. Yea, well he was also put to death, thus creating our celebration of his death day, Feb 14th.  It is also said that at the beginning of the ides of Feb (aka about the 15th) was a fertility festival. To begin the festivities, a priest would sacrifice a goat for fertility and a dog for purification. So theres a nice start to a day of love, the killing of animals. Then if that werent enough, boys then cut the goats hide into strips and dipped them in the sacrificial blood and went around slapping women and crops with them, believing it would make them more fertile the coming year. Hmm, why does getting beat with goat hide not sound so romantic to me? Also it was believed to be the time of the birds mating season so it only made sense to make it a romantic holiday. Riiiight. Yea, I'm not a bird. And if I was, a bird gets knocked up, not presents...whos getting ripped off??? For more info on the history of Vday check out (http://www.historychannel.com/exhibits/valentine/)

I think its a nice idea, I think its sweet, and I think that sometimes we get caught up in our lives where we do neglect our loved ones so its nice to have a day set aside where we can take time to appreciate them. But my thing is, do that anyway. Buy something nice for someone you love. Write them a nice note. Buy them flowers when they are least expecting it. That means more than just one day out of the year. I think people put too much emphasis on it, expect too much, and cry if they are single. Uhh, well look at it this way. You could be beaten with dead goat. Being single isnt the end of the world. Go out and do something nice for yourself or another single friend.

As for me I am gonna go sacrifice a goat and beat some people I love with it....

Got my hair cut again. Its definately a change. Its all piecey and crazy. I like it a lot. I'm currently runnin on 3 expresso shots. I love that feeling of wanting to run around like a maniac lol. Today has been a really great day. All my homework is done, my classes are over for the week, my speech went well, my stats went alright, and its nice outside. This week went pretty quickly I think. I wish someone would have a party this weekend...it seems like forever since the last one. Really it was only two weeks ago but still! lol.

I had the weirdest dream ever last night. I dreamt about pies and a fountain that was attached to my RAs leg, and a tiara with huge yellow feathers coming out of it, and I was in a mall I have dreamt about before. Dont ask me to s'plain it.....I dont get it either! lol

I love poptarts. And pretzels...I wish I had some pretzels. I have some poptarts. But I'm not that hungry right now anyway!

So I dyed my hair today. Doesnt look any different really. Which is good cuz if its too different its prolly cuz its a disaster lol. I'm so tired! But I got all the blood out of my clothes. *Sigh* Right now the thought of crawling in my bed with my covers under my chin and just sleeping sounds wonderful. I think I'm gonna do just that....
